01 Statement of Intent
LineTech Services Ltd recognises that the work we deliver — building and maintaining the overhead line network — is central to the UK & Ireland's transition to net zero. We are equally committed to carrying out that work in a way that protects the natural environment in which we operate, much of it sensitive rural, upland and forestry landscape.
We are committed to complying with the Environmental Protection Act 1990, the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, applicable environmental permitting and waste regulations, and the environmental conditions set by our clients and the DNOs.
02 Our Commitments
- Prevent pollution of land, water and air arising from our operations
- Assess environmental risk as part of our RAMS process, including protected species, watercourses, peatland and habitat
- Minimise waste, reuse and recycle materials, and dispose of waste responsibly through licensed carriers under our duty of care
- Manage fuels, oils and chemicals with appropriate storage, spill kits and containment
- Reduce carbon emissions from our fleet and plant through efficient routing, maintenance and, where practicable, lower-emission vehicles and equipment
- Reinstate ground and minimise disturbance to landowners, livestock and the public
- Work with ecologists and clients to protect nesting birds, protected species and designated sites
03 Supporting Net Zero
By keeping the overhead network resilient and enabling new low-carbon generation to connect, our core service directly supports national decarbonisation targets. We see environmental responsibility not as a constraint but as part of the value we deliver to our clients and the communities we work in.
04 Responsibilities & Review
The Managing Directors hold overall responsibility for environmental management. All employees and subcontractors are responsible for following environmental controls on site. Performance is monitored through site inspection and audit, and this policy is reviewed at least annually. LineTech works towards recognised environmental management standards including ISO 14001.
05 Authorisation
This policy is issued and endorsed by the Board of LineTech Services Ltd.
